Position Summary:
Operate a school bus safely and efficiently, transporting students along assigned routes, adhering to schedule, safety regulations, and district/company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a school bus or vehicle on assigned route(s) in accordance with schedule and traffic laws.
  • Pick up and drop off students at designated stops; assist students boarding and exiting (including special needs) when required.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle; report mechanical or safety issues.
  • Maintain safe and orderly behavior of students on the bus; enforce rules and report incidents.
  • Keep the bus clean, fueled, and maintained in good operating condition.
  • Communicate with dispatch and safety team and other stakeholders regarding route changes, delays, student concerns.

Qualifications:
  • Valid Commercial Driverโ€™s License (CDL) with passenger (P) and school bus (S) endorsements.
  • Clean driving record; ability to pass drug amp; alcohol testing required for commercial driving.
  • Ability to interact effectively with children, parents, school staff; maintain patience, discipline, and a safe environment.
  • Ability to conduct inspections, use two-way radio, follow established routes and schedules.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience a plus
