Salary: $13.18 per hour/ approximately 4 hours each day/ while school is in session only
Reports to: Director of Transportation
Job Function: Assists driver with transporting students to and from school
Advancement: Opportunity for advancement to bus driver with training provided
KEY DUTIES
Major Responsibilities
  • Proper loading and unloading of students to assure safety and minimal risk of danger to persons and damage to equipment.
  • Complete training for proper securement of child safety restraint systems.
  • Accurate completion of all necessary paperwork. I.e.: seating charts.
  • Development and maintenance of professional and effective relations between the transportation department, bus driver, students, parents, and school personnel.
  • Professional representation of Lafayette School Corporation and the student transportation industry through responsible and safe student management.
Position Specifications:
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must have a current Indiana Title 20 physical.
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Be able to follow instructions and take directions from assigned bus driver and transportation office staff.
  • Maintain a current CPR and First Aid Certification.
