Job description

Burrtec Waste Industries, Inc. is a well-established refuse and recycling collection company serving over 15 municipalities throughout Southern California and employing more than 1,400 full-time employees. Burrtec continues to grow through company acquisitions and successful bid proposals. Burrtec is a family owned company that firmly believes the key element to our success is knowing how important each employee is in the organization. We are currently seeking a Truck Maintenance at our Santa Clarita Division.

Truck Maintenance I

Heavy Duty Diesel Truck Maintenance

SALARY RANGE: $29.20 - $32.20/hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Change oil and filter on engine, transmissions, hydraulic systems, differentials, lube chassis.
  • Replace brakes, mount and dismount tires, replace hydraulic hoses and cylinders, R&R air valve.
  • Check and repair all lights and truck fluids as schedule.
  • Assist others and occasionally perform roadside assistance.
  • Follow safety rules and keep work area clean.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list; additional tasks may be assigned; or the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Able to change oil and filter on engine, transmissions, hydraulic system and differentials.
  • Inspect truck pre-maintenance inspection forms and complete forms and properly know how to use tools to safely complete job.
  • Valid California Driver's License, required
  • Ability to drive forklifts safely.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 Years of experience in heavy-duty diesel and gasoline truck repair and equipment maintenance are required

PHYSICAL:

  • This description requires that the individual walk, sit, stand, touch, stoop, lift, and climb or move heavy objects up to 75lbs.
  • Work overhead and underneath the equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Will be exposed to outdoor weather, heat, cold, rain, and wind, and will be exposed to moderate levels of noise and dust.
