Truck Maintenance II

Heavy-Duty Diesel Truck Maintenance

SALARY RANGE: $31.20 - $32.20/hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • R & R engines, R & R transmissions (automatic & standard), overhaul PTO’s, air and electrical systems, R & R suspension work, brakes, tires, hydraulic system repairs, R & R clutches, road assistance,
  • Assist other employees with PM service,
  • Follow safety rules and keep work area clean.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list; additional tasks may be assigned; or the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Know how to complete vehicle inspection forms.
  • Able to conduct a 90-day inspection as per DOT requirements.
  • Able to troubleshoot and repair both air and electrical problems. Must be able to drive vehicles and forklift safely.
  • A valid California Driver’s License is required

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of three years of experience and/or training in CNG/LNG/Diesel truck repair and maintenance is required
    • Or any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Have a clean driving record
  • Waste Industry experience, preferred
  • In-frame engine overall experience, preferred
  • Welding experience, preferred
  • Minimum of three years of experience and/or training in CNG/LNG/Diesel truck repair and maintenance, required
    • Or any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Have a clean driving record
  • Waste Industry experience, preferred
  • In-frame engine overall experience, preferred
  • Welding experience is preferred

PHYSICAL:

  • Able to perform heavy lifting up to 75 lbs is required
  • Physically demanding.
  • Work overhead and underneath equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Will be exposed to outdoor weather, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
  • Will be exposed to moderate levels of noise and dust.
