Job description

Burckhardt Compression (US) Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Sales & Service Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a critical link between customers, sales, engineering, and operations, ensuring the seamless execution of service orders, quotations, and technical support. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to business growth while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales Support

  • Deliver exceptional service to internal and external customers, ensuring timely communication and follow-up.
  • Respond to inbound sales inquiries and prepare accurate quotes and cost estimates.
  • Support the sales team with technical and commercial solutions for complex customer requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell products and services to existing customers.

Order & Project Management

  • Track order intake, invoiced sales, and profitability for repairs and spare parts.
  • Manage service center orders from receipt through quoting, repair, and invoicing.
  • Monitor order progress and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Support Finance by ensuring accurate and complete invoicing information.
  • Prepare and coordinate quality documentation packages for customer deliveries.

Technical & Product Support

  • Maintain strong knowledge of products, services, and technical solutions.
  • Create, update, and validate Bills of Materials (BOM) in alignment with engineering standards.
  • Maintain accurate pricing structures and technical documentation.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to engineering teams as needed.

Vendor & Supply Chain Coordination

  • Manage vendor relationships and maintain supplier databases.
  • Place and track vendor orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Monitor vendor performance and proactively address risks or gaps.

Operational Excellence & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Engineering, and Finance teams.
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM systems (customer data, opportunities, order status).
  • Participate in team meetings, reporting on pipeline, open items, and risks.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in customer service, sales support, or order management in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to interpret engineering or product information.
  • Proficiency with CRM and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range: $85,000 - $95,000 per year

Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and location. In addition to base pay, this position may be eligible for bonuses and company-sponsored benefits.
