Job description

About this Position

This is an exciting opportunity to join the hottest new bungee site in America during its grand opening season in the role of Jump Master Trainee.

The Great Bungee Company is the flagship U.S. site from the owners of Great Canadian Bungee, one of North America’s most established bungee and zipline operators. With over 30 operating seasons behind us, we bring proven training programs, management systems, and operational excellence to this brand-new destination. While this experience is a major asset, this role does not require direct industry experience. Instead, we’re looking for individuals who demonstrate professionalism, confidence, strong teamwork skills, and a genuine love for the outdoors.

This position begins with an approximately one-month training and certification period. During this time, trainees will participate in ongoing operational, safety, rescue, and customer service training under the supervision of certified senior staff. Starting compensation during the training period is $16.00/hour.

Upon successful completion of the training program and certification as a Jump Master, compensation will increase to $20.50/hour.

Responsibilities

  • Harnessing and briefing jumpers and riders on the tower.
  • Providing customer service to the jumpers and riders.
  • Rigging the bungee cord and performing double checks.
  • Lowering jumpers manually or with a winch to the retrieval vessel.
  • Assisting in training new guides and team members.
  • Participating in ongoing training.
  • Maintaining and inspecting the bungee jumping equipment.

Work Period

The season at The Great Bungee Company is typically scheduled to run from mid-April until the end of November. Jumping activities are scheduled 7 days a week during this time period. The number of hours that you will work each day of the week fluctuates based on the demand for jump reservation. The season may look similar to this:

  • April to June: ~40 hrs per week
  • July & August: ~40+ hrs per week
  • September to November: ~35-40 hrs per week

Work Location

The Great Bungee Company’s jump site is in the Old Standard Quarry in Harpers Ferry, WV.

Candidate Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have your own car or a reliable means of transportation.
  • Previous experience working in a team environment
  • Previous customer service experience is an asset.
  • Possess First-Aid/CPR or be willing to take.
  • Be a strong swimmer capable of passing an onsite swim test.
  • Must take part in a water rescue course provided by The Great Bungee Company.
