A Day in the Life:
The Plant Electrician is responsible for the electrical maintenance of the Destrehan, LA Bunge grain elevator. Candidate must actively participate in Bunge's employee safety policy and maintain a safe work environment for self and all employees. Additionally, this role is responsible for demonstrating a commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system, and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.
Position Details:
Monday through Friday, 7a-3p
Overtime, call out availability, on-call rotation, and/or straight days are required
Hourly pay rate: $32.44

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Plant wide electrical troubleshooting and repair (electrical circuits of 4160VAC or less)
  • Troubleshoot and repair variable frequency drive (VFD) and AC/DC systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical components of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic industrial equipment
  • Perform general electrician skills including but not limited to running conduit and sizing and pulling wires
  • Follow, interpret, and read blueprints and schematics
  • Inspect for conformity to industry standards or specifications
  • Maintain electrical switchgear
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Industrial electrical experience (3 + years preferred)
  • Working knowledge of thermography
  • Knowledge of and ability to follow NFPA70E guidelines
  • TWIC card or ability to obtain a TWIC card
  • Good written/verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate degree and/or technical certification
  • PLC experience
  • HVAC experience
  • Knowledge of Studio 5000 programming software and Wonderware
