Mallard Creek Polymers is seeking a talented OTR CDL Hazmat Driver to join our team.

They have experience safely transporting raw materials and finished goods to various local locations. What you do: As a CDL Hazmat Driver you are responsible for:

  • Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations. 
  • Transport freight to designated customer locations while meeting scheduled pickup and delivery appointments. 
  • Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and en-route vehicle inspections and report any maintenance concerns immediately. 
  • Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit. 
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELDs), fuel receipts, trip reports, and other required documentation. 
  • Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) requirements. 
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and management regarding load status, delays, or operational issues. 
  • Practice safe driving habits and maintain a satisfactory safety record. 
  • Ensure freight is delivered in good condition and verify shipment accuracy during pickup and delivery. 
  • Maintain cleanliness and professional appearance of assigned equipment.
  • Assist with loading and unloading when required.
  • Other tasks as directed by Supervisor
  • Interact with other plant personnel.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain, providing accurate information. 
  • Interact with drivers / representatives of delivery companies.

What we Need:

The CDL Hazmat Driver is responsible for driving liquid bulk hazmat tankers for our family owned and operated business. The CDL Hazmat Driver conducts local transport and runs between company facilities and local customers. You would be responsible for safely transporting bulk finish goods to our customers as well as inbound raw materials to our manufacturing plant.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid Class-A CDL
  • Must have Tanker and HazMat endorsement.
  • Pass a DOT Physical and Drug Screen and meet all DOT Requirements
  • Must maintain DOT Medical Certification
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 3+ year Tanker experience
  • Forklift certified or able to obtain your certification.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Clean Driving record.
  • Warehouse work experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Pass a DOT Physical and Drug Screen
  • Lift 50LBS.
  • Wear all PPE, including respirator (clean shaven face at all times)
  • Work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Bend, squat and lift arms overhead.
  • Open and close valves and manage truck and tank connections (manual dexterity)

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 3+ year Tanker experience

Work Location: Mallard Creek Polymers Plant – 2800 Morehead Rd, Charlotte, NC 28262

Schedule:

  • Extended periods away from home, typically ranging from several days to multiple weeks.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by customer demand and route assignments.
