Job description

All Modal Transportation is looking to fill a position for an experienced and energetic Fleet Dispatcher/Transportation Manager to support our year-round operations. All Modal is a Drayage & Intermodal Trucking company servicing the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and the rails roads. The position is responsible for managing the daily operations of our drivers and company-owned trucks.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing operation of steady routes; dispatching and scheduling appointments with terminals, pick-ups, and drop-offs
- Responsible for managing a local fleet of Drivers
- Complete oversight of our drivers and daily terminal operations
- Working closely with the Office Manager in regard to the qualification, hiring, training, and retention of drivers
- Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations and the ability to operate in compliance with these regulations as well as within company guidelines
- Managing routine and non-routine maintenance for all the trucks and coordinating such repairs with various shops in the area
- Handling roadside assistance needs and developing a cost-effective way to minimize on-the-road tire changes and repairs
- Monitoring budget and operational metrics while diagnosing and improving processes and procedures to ultimately improve performance and profitability
- Other duties as required
Qualifications/ Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of port - drayage dispatching experience and operations in the trucking industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability
- Ability to multi-task various functions simultaneously
- Maintain a positive attitude
- Have strong attention to detail
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule and long hours
- Strong computer skills - good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook
- Professional driving experience is a plus
- Spanish, Russian, or Bulgarian speaking is a plus
