Overview

William Charles Electric is hiring Field Engineers to support our Power Delivery team.  The Field Engineer will provide support to the Project Manager and Construction Manager on various projects.  General responsibilities include implementation of the project specific Quality Plan, site specific plans, material inventory and receiving.

Location & Travel Details: 

Must be capable of up to 75% travel (e.g. 3 weeks or 15 days per month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job, and the employee must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing.

Responsibilities
  • Performs field survey work in regards to layout and tracking of work activities, utilizing PC based software and GPS station/field equipment.
  • Manages project specific quality control records and ensuring that required reporting is accomplished.
  • Planning, scheduling and coordinating to ensure that all required audits/inspections are performed and documented.
  • Assist with material inventory and receiving paperwork.
  • Assist with final job closeout, as-builts, job binder creation.
  • Assist with subcontractor scheduling and management
  • Will provide other duties as assigned.
  • Extended work hours and weekend work may be required.
  • Assist with RFI (Request for Information) submittals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (construction management, civil engineering or equivalent) preferred
  • Previous construction experience desired
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H-1B visa status)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the Company's Zero Injury principles
  • Strong blue print reading/interpretation skills.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software packages quickly
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suites program.
  • Strong communication skills. Verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with GPS and Surveying Equipment
  • Process driven with a strong attention to details.
  • Customer focused.
  • Preferred experience with some or all of this software: ProCore, E-builder, View Point, Build to Win
