Job Description:

In this role, you will facilitate the overall building maintenance management of the Parks Department Properties.

Examples of Duties:

  • Creates & implements custom preventative maintenance plans for all assigned properties.
  • Inspects, documents & creates work orders for all properties utilizing the work order system.
  • Directs all major repair projects, coordinating with contractors & building representatives.
  • Directs all building maintenance activities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, cleaning, and general repairs.
  • Monitors and manages preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and ensure systems are functioning at peak performance.
  • Ensures that building systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, etc.) are regularly inspected and serviced to comply with safety standards and regulations.
  • Oversees the Fire & Life Safety compliance of all properties.
  • Troubleshoots complicated building systems.
  • Makes immediate/temporary repairs until a contractor can respond.
  • Manages and performs quality control for in-house and private contractors conducting maintenance and repair.
  • Manages the building maintenance work order system.
  • Records and tracks all warranty information.
  • Responds to emergency repairs 24/7.
  • Supports the Municipal Emergency Operations Center (MEOC) during emergency situations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) and 8 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance knowledge.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software.

Other Necessary Requirements:

  • May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
  • In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City's needs.
