Building Supervisor (Part-Time)
Troy Recreation
Starting at $16.00 to $22.00/hour
Based on qualifications
This position adheres to the Earned Sick Time Act and accrues paid time off
Troy Recreation is seeking a responsible, courteous, and highly-organized individual to join our team as a Building Supervisor at the Troy Community Center. This role involves a variety of tasks, including supervision of staff, overseeing daily operations, and maintaining a safe and welcoming facility.
DUTIES
• Train and supervise staff.
• Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback; administer discipline as needed.
• Coordinate work schedules, vacation requests, and ensure accurate time sheets.
• Lead daily opening and closing procedures.
• Patrol and monitor all areas of the Community Center.
• Enforce all rules and regulations with patrons.
• Supervise open gym recreation activities and set up gym equipment (i.e. badminton, pickleball nets, etc).
• Respond to accidents, incidents, and emergencies. Complete proper forms for reporting.
• Maintain an inventory of all materials, tools and equipment.
• Address minor maintenance issues. Communicate with Building Operations for specific facility repairs.
• Assist with set up for recreation programs and room rentals.
• Clean, inspect, and maintain fitness equipment to ensure safety.
• Daily and continuous cleaning of fitness desk, facility, and locker rooms.
• Handle questions, complaints, and concerns on the phone and in person from the public, contractors, and employees in a professional manner.
• Process membership applications and day pass purchases with proper cash handling.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School degree or GED equivalent.
• Minimum one (1) year of recent part-time experience in Recreation or Fitness fields, or closely related field.
• Minimum one (1) year of recent part-time experience in a customer service role, including processing sales transactions on a computer.
• Successful candidate must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen (including marijuana).
PREFERENCES
• One (1) year of part-time supervisory/management experience
• CPR/First Aid Certified
HOURS
Part-time, year-round. Approx. 16-28 hours per week. Schedule and availability must be attentive to facility needs. Multiple shifts available.
Facility is open seven (7) days per week, 4:30am-9:30pm.
