To assist the branch manager to profitably manage all retail lumber and building material sales, operations, and staff to ensure growth and to carry out short- and long-term goals.  Supervise employees appropriately & effectively.

Starting at $24-27/hour! Annual performance based raises!

Leadership/Management

  • Monitor employee's daily activity and delegate or assign work as appropriate
  • Prepare and distribute work schedules
  • Challenge and develop employees' performance, provide feedback, and hold direct reports accountable for their goals and job responsibilities
  • Ensure timely, accurate review of weekly time record reports and employee expenses for payroll processing
  • Assist with candidate selection and interview process for new hires
  • Motivate employees and offer opportunity and reward appropriately
  • Make recommendations to Manager regarding efforts to control employee turnover
  • Make recommendations to Manager regarding employee performance for coaching, review, and disciplinary efforts
  • Oversee all store operations when the manager is absent

Performance Expectations

  • Excellent attitude and customer service skills
  • Effectively research and resolve customer complaints and conflicts
  • Do It Right the First Time - Strive to eliminate errors, prioritize work accuracy, seek opportunities to improve efficiencies
  • Interact and communicate with supervisors, coworkers, and customers in a positive and professional manner
  • Take responsibility for job performance of employees and overall customer satisfaction at their location
  • Maintain a neat, clean store and yard appearance
  • Practice good merchandising including setup and traffic flow
  • Maintain inventory levels and notify appropriate person of out stocks
  • Rotate stock
  • Manage shrink by utilizing proper procedures for cull and damaged product
  • Assist with physical inventory and cycle counts
  • Meet and or exceed individual sales goals
  • Meet and or exceed individual margin goals
