Building Maintenance Engineer - JLLWhat this job involves:

JLL is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Webster, NY. This position performs critical maintenance, repair, and operational work on building systems, HVAC equipment, and manufacturing line systems. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance of all facility infrastructure while maintaining the highest standards of safety and client satisfaction. This role requires a technically proficient professional who can work independently, respond effectively to emergencies, and continuously expand their skill set to support our client's evolving needs.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Perform ongoing reactive and preventive maintenance work orders on building systems, HVAC systems, and manufacturing line equipment
  • Maintain, operate, and repair underground utilities, fire suppression systems, emergency generators, UPS systems, and security infrastructure
  • Execute electrical repairs and new installations up to 480v, including DC electrical work
  • Service and maintain chillers, boilers, cooling towers, AHUs, compressors, and associated HVAC equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on forklifts, scooters, hoists, dock levelers, and compactors
  • Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, DDC/pneumatics systems, and building automation systems
  • Conduct backflow testing, fire pump PMs, and maintain steam traps, control valves, pumps, and hydraulics
  • Install, assemble, and relocate machines as needed
  • Manage external lighting repairs using bucket trucks
  • Respond effectively to all building emergencies and provide first response to equipment failures
  • Utilize Corrigo (JLL's Work Order System), Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Maintain compliance with State, County, and City codes, ordinances, and laws
  • Participate in on-call duties and overtime as required
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Trade school certification, vocational training, formalized training, or journeyman status with core competency in relevant trades
  • Minimum five years of relevant maintenance experience
  • Strong technical aptitude in building systems and equipment repair
  • Ability to carry 50 lbs
  • Valid driver's license (for bucket truck and site vehicle operation)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team
  • Excellent customer interaction skills with professional demeanor
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and computerized maintenance management systems
  • Willingness to support after-hours building activities and emergencies
  • Strong commitment to safety procedures and good housekeeping practices
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Electrical, Controls, and HVAC skills and experience
  • Pipefitter experience
  • Professional licenses or certifications in one or more technical skill areas
  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS/BMS)
  • Welding certification (pipe welding)
  • Favorable customer references from previous positions
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial facility environments
  • Demonstrated ability to take direction and mentoring from engineering leadership teams
