Job Summary
The maintenance technician does a variety of quality work associated with maintenance of buildings and grounds managed by Kenrick Corporation. The position takes a self-motivated, self-disciplined individual. This position reports to the specific Superintendent.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Duties:
  • Perform a wide range of skilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repair of facilities, infrastructure and equipment.
  • Perform a variety of internal building maintenance including cleaning, repairing and/or installing doors, windows, kitchen cabinets, walls, floors, and other normal building components.
  • Perform a variety of external building and grounds maintenance including repair and cleaning gutters, repairs to leaky roofs, damaged siding, light posts, signs, lawn maintenance, pool maintenance.
  • Operate a motor vehicle to haul and transport equipment, supplies and materials.
  • Operate a variety of equipment and machines including various types of hand tools, power tools and equipment used in building maintenance and grounds keeping.
  • Perform Emergency service calls on a rotating basis.

Knowledge of:
  • Carpentry, plumbing, drywalling, roofing, and other skills related to building maintenance.
  • OSHA safety practices.
  • Operating standard tools, equipment and materials used in general building and grounds maintenance.
  • Written and verbal skills in order to perform proper record-keeping.
  • Shop math applicable to building maintenance skills.
  • Proper lifting techniques.

Ability to:
  • Work cooperatively with others.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Safely operate power equipment.
  • Climb ladders, work at heights, bend, push, pull and lift 50 pounds or more.

Qualification Requirements:
  • Reliable Transportation with NYS License
