Job description

Position Summary:
An ILI Field Technician is responsible for building, testing, and setup of the ILI tool and support equipment under the direction of the Field Superintendent. They will also assist and provide support of the field execution and post run reports of the in-line inspection. The position requires extensive travel and reports to the Director of Operations. The home base for this position is the north side of Indianapolis, IN.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure safety is put first in the execution of all tasks and processes
  • Follow documented processes and procedures to build and prepare in line inspection tools and support equipment
  • Assist in prepping, launching, and receiving of in line inspection tools
  • Clean, refurbish, and maintain in line inspection tool after the completion of a job
  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes as required
  • Responsible for the transportation of the in line inspection tool and equipment to job site
  • Accurately complete electronic and/or hardcopy job related documents
  • Prepare expense reports for them to be reimbursed in a timely manner
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost savings
  • Operational Excellence: Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, consistently working towards the achievement of individual and team goals.
  • Additional Duties: Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Capable of using mechanical drawings and procedures to re-build mechanical assemblies
  • Ability to use wiring diagrams and procedures to connect and re-build cable assemblies
  • Expertise in the use of a laptop and ability to learn proprietary software applications
  • Proficient in of Microsoft Suite (exec, word, outlook, share point, etc.)
  • Possess strong communication skills
  • Comfortable working alone and as a team depending on the job requirements.
  • Ability and drive to progress through Tool Operator Levels described in ANST Personnel Qualifications and Certifications for In-Line Inspection Technologies.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum: High School or equivalent.
  • Preferred 2-year College and/or Technical Electronic Degree

The successful candidate will be presented a job offer contingent on the following:
  • Authorized to work in the United States for any employer
  • DOT Drug and Alcohol Test (Required as a condition of employment)
  • Must be willing to submit to a background check

(A conviction record will not necessarily prevent you from being employed)
  • MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) Check
  • Possess or ability to obtain a TWIC card
  • Passport or ability to obtain one in 6 months, preferred
  • Field work may require long work days including early morning start and late evening finish
  • Ability to routinely lift and carry 50 lbs., occasionally up to 100 pounds waist height
  • Normally will work in shop and field which can include extreme weather conditions
  • 80% Travel within the US, which may include international travel.
