Job Overview

Jensen Hughes is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Alarm Consultant/Designer to join our team in Anaheim, CA. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, planning, and overseeing fire alarm systems for a variety of projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, local codes, and customer requirements. This individual will bring technical expertise, leadership, and attention to detail to deliver high-quality fire protection solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed fire alarm system designs.
  • Utilize CAD, Revit, or other design software to produce accurate, code-compliant drawings and submittals.
  • Ensure designs meet all applicable local, state, and national fire codes.
  • Perform site surveys to inspect and evaluate building features and systems.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, design drawings and presentations.
  • Stay current on relevant changes to fire protection regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, contractors, and AHJs to ensure seamless integration of fire alarm systems into overall building designs.
  • Review designs for accuracy, compliance, and constructability before submission.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to meet project and business objectives.
  • Assist our Business Development team in identifying, pursuing, and securing project opportunities.
  • Manage technical project performance including project scheduling and resource management to meet our business objectives.
  • Manage financial project performance by developing accurate project budgets while adhering to approved scopes of work.

Qualifications

  • Five (5)+ years of experience designing fire alarm systems for an array of project types.
  • NICET Level III or IV certification in Fire Alarm Systems is preferred.
  • Professional Licensure in Electrical or Fire Protection Engineering is a plus.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools.
  • Strong understanding of NFPA codes and local fire codes.
  • Experience with mass notification systems or integrated life safety solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and project teams while meeting client deadlines.
