Ameresco has an immediate opening for a Senior Construction Project Manager to join our U.S. West Construction Operations team based in the Southern Washington and Oregon markets in a hybrid role. This individual will lead complex Energy Performance Contracting (EPC), Design-Build, and solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and renewable energy construction projects from development through commissioning. We are seeking a dynamic leader to oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and ensure projects meet contractual, financial, and performance obligations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead full lifecycle management of EPC and Design-Build projects, including scope development, construction oversight, commissioning, and measurement & verification (M&V), including integrated renewable portfolios such as solar PV and BESS.

  • Manage project budgets, schedules, risk profiles, and performance guarantee metrics to ensure contractual compliance and profitability.

  • Oversee subcontractor and vendor selection, contract negotiation, and performance management.

  • Directly manage vendors and subcontractors to ensure safety, quality control and project delivery on time and within budget, while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

  • Schedule management: update schedules to reflect current information, monitor critical path activities, and track outstanding tasks.

  • Manage and mentor Assistant project managers, construction managers and project managers.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building owners, facility managers, and external partners in the public, institutional, industrial, government, and commercial sectors.

  • Facilitate project meetings, progress updates, and decision making processes.

  • Build long term client relationships that support repeat business and program expansion.

  • Review and manage engineering design, submittal, and construction document approvals.

  • Monitor field activities to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to design specifications.

  • Lead commissioning activities and ensure systems perform designed.

  • Develop and manage project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and cost control strategies.

  • Work collaboratively with the Project Finance, Construction, and O&M Services teams to satisfy all requirements for commercial operation and financial close.

  • Ability to travel to project sites as required (anticipated up to 50%).

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of project management experience in EPC, ESCO, and/or Design Build construction.

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex solar, electrical, mechanical, controls, energy storage (BESS), and renewable energy projects.

  • Proof of valid OSHA 30 (Construction) certification required at time of application.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, lighting, controls, renewables, water conservation).

  • Proficiency with project management tools and construction scheduling software including Procore and MS Project.

  • Valid Drivers' License in good standing, issued by resident state is required.

  • Strong verbal, written, computer, technical communication and presentation skills.

  • Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Project.

  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CEM, CMVP, or LEED AP are preferred.

  • Experience with public sector procurement (K 12, higher ed, municipal, federal) is preferred. Experience working with Washington Department of Enterprise Services preferred.

  • Knowledge of utility incentive programs and financing structures for energy and renewable energy projects is preferred.

  • Familiarity with utility interconnection processes and commissioning requirements for solar PV + BESS projects is preferred.

  • Experience with energy modeling, savings calculations, and M&V protocols (IPMVP) is preferred.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $111,000 - $161,500 (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role.

Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. This range supports our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
