Familiarity with inspection management software, digital reporting tools, and sometimes CAD systems is commonly required. Inspectors must also stay updated on code changes and foster strong working relationships with builders to resolve issues collaboratively and keep projects on track.

What are building codes?

Building codes are a set of regulations that specify the minimum standards for the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings. They are intended to ensure the safety, health, and welfare of the people who use or occupy the structures.
