We are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative who thrives on building long-term customer relationships, identifying opportunities, providing excellent customer service and delivering technical solutions that create value for our clients.

Position Summary

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for developing new business while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing customers. This individual serves as a trusted advisor by understanding customer needs, identifying opportunities, and coordinating with engineering, estimating, and operations teams to deliver successful solutions.

Success in this role requires strong relationship-building skills, a consultative sales approach, and the ability to manage multiple opportunities from prospecting through project completion.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying opportunities to expand business.

Prospect and develop new commercial accounts within the assigned territory.

Meet with building owners, facility managers, mechanical contractors, consulting engineers, and end users to understand project needs.

Identify opportunities involving Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC controls, commercial HVAC equipment, service agreements, retrofits, and energy efficiency upgrades.

Prepare and present professional proposals with support from the inside sales and other departments.

Negotiate pricing and close profitable business.

Manage the sales process from initial contact through project turnover.

Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and service teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurately forecast opportunities using CRM software.

Representing CEC at customer meetings, networking events, and industry functions.

Delivering exceptional customer service that results in long-term partnerships and repeat business.

Qualifications

Experience of outside sales and account management experience.

Experience in commercial HVAC, building automation, controls, mechanical contracting, industrial sales, construction, or related technical industries preferred.

Proven ability to develop and maintain long-term customer relationships.

Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

Self-motivated with excellent time-management and organizational abilities.

Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.

Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
