PAS Engineer

Position Title: PAS (Process Automation System) Engineer / PAS Sr. Engineer Group: Engineering & Services Reports To: Lifecycle Services Manager Location: Cottonton, AL (Onsite support) Territory: Cottonton, AL / Auburn, AL / Columbus, GA (or within 50 miles)

Job Summary: Emerson Process Management is the world leader in the process control industry. The PAS Engineer provides aftermarket solution capabilities for DeltaV Distributed Control System product lines and has IT / OT product and service knowledge. Total Solutions will include activities such as on-site hardware/software support, system preventative maintenance, network communications troubleshooting, system configuration, and installation checkout/certification.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • On-site Hardware and Software Support: Support for our Customer with around the clock coverage for Hardware and Software issues.
  • System Preventative Maintenance: Contract Customers require services to ensure 100% availability of their DCS systems. PMs may include, but not limited to Software Patch management, DeltaV upgrades, database back-ups, power and grounding checks, network communications troubleshooting, Backup and Recovery of workstations and cabinet cleaning
  • Network Communications Troubleshooting: The ability to use various tools such as network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers to diagnose and correct computer network communication issues.
  • System Configuration: Assist in the configuration of process graphics, I/O configuration, and control logic troubleshooting for Automation projects.
  • HyperV Host Support: Domain Controllers, Servers, and Virtual machines
  • Remote User Support: Provide login support for all remote users to DeltaV terminal servers, this also includes P+F Thin Client installation and support
  • Installation Checkout/Certification: Provide services to install and/or verify proper installation of all DCS system components.
  • Training: Develop and conduct training and/or qualification programs.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Minimum Associates Degree in IT/OT, Process Instrumentation/Controls or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 2-5 years total experience in IT/OT, industrial maintenance, and/or process control functions.
  • Emerson Process Management products and services knowledge with emphasis in DCS Systems is beneficial but not required.
  • Essential performance skills are Decision Making and Problem Solving, Commitment to Task, Coping, Spoken Communications, Goal Setting, Organization & Planning, Team Building.

Travel Requirements: <10%. Position is static at customer site as full-time staff augmentation, but occasional travel may be required.
