Job description

Description:

In this position you will cooperatively work with a team to efficiently create customers’ orders. Safety will be a main priority for you and your fellow team members. Thus, working in a clean and safe environment using powered industrial equipment and following safety procedures. Work Schedule Mid-Shift Monday-Thursday and Day Shift Friday.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read orders to ascertain catalog numbers, sizes, colors, and quantities of merchandise.
  • Picking of product will consist of beer, wine, spirits, or kegs.
  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
  • Pick and count stock items and record data by voice command on a headset/cell phone.
  • Operate and inspect powered industrial equipment in the warehouse.
  • Pick orders from full pallets to case picking.
  • Consistently meet minimum required production, accuracy or quality standards for the work performed.
  • Pick product from the proper shelving units and place on a pallet so the pallet is stable.
  • Wrap pallets securely with shrink wrap to avoid shifting loads while on the truck and during the delivery process.
  • Stack loads properly on a pallet as to ensure the pallet is stable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and assist in other areas as needed.


Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate basic product scanner proficiency (i.e., order picking) effectively with minimal errors.
  • Strong team player and the ability to get along with co-workers.
  • Good verbal/written communication skills, basic math skills, and ability to read documents in English, such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May have to lift to 50 pounds.
