About the Role:

As a Skill Builder at our Logan House Residential Group Home located in Muncie, Indiana for a rotating schedule Su-Sa; 11 pm to 7 am. You will be integral in providing a family atmosphere in a homelike environment to help residents retain, maintain, and learn daily living skills. You will be the catalyst to provide compassionate encouragement so that our adult residents can continue challenging themselves and pursue active lifestyles. Our commitment to whole person healthcare and your desire to help change our communities for the better will make us an amazing Team!


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintaining 24/7 staff coverage, including working other shifts as needed some weekends/holidays as necessary.
  • Assist residents in the acquisition of Activities of Daily Living skills and social skills in individual and group settings
  • Assess and monitor residents' behaviors and intervene as appropriate
  • Communication (verbal and written) and consultation with residents, house staff and other Center staff.
  • Assist residents in menu planning/grocery shopping (writing out menus, loading groceries, comparison shopping).
  • Task assignments, assign and monitor residents' tasks on a rotating basis; Supervision, training and assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living.
  • Crisis intervention
  • Medication packaging and monitoring.
  • Assist residents in obtaining/applying for generic benefits.
  • Maintain environment under house rules specified (see general house rules).
  • Record keeping (ITP's, daily logs, medication logs, medication counting, daily census, inventory and skills assessment).
  • Transporting residents into community for general outings and appointments as needed.

What Were Looking For:

Were seeking compassionate, motivated individuals who are passionate about whole-person care and thrive in a collaborative, team-based environment. Experience in behavioral health or social services is a plus.

  • High school diploma or its equivalent with 6 months paid behavioral healthcare experience or equivalent college coursework toward a human services or health related degree required
  • Valid drivers license, a driving record meeting Meridian's driving policy, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance required.
