Job description

We are looking for energetic and reliable Barbacks to support bar operations across multiple locations at Benchmark International Arena, ensuring a smooth and efficient guest experience during events. As a Barback, you will play a key behind-the-scenes role by maintaining stocked and organized bar areas, assisting bartenders, and upholding high standards of cleanliness and service. Your attention to detail, sense of urgency, and commitment to supporting the front-of-house team will directly enhance the overall fan experience. This position requires a team-first attitude, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Join us in creating an unforgettable atmosphere for fans while supporting a seamless and enjoyable beverage service across our venues.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $13.25-$13.75 and is tip eligible.

From 2011 to 2013, Benchmark International Arena had more than $62 million in improvements that have clearly revolutionized the industry and made it the premier entertainment venue in the state of Florida. With a wide array of venues spread throughout the United States, it can be difficult to find one that distinguishes itself from the others. That is not the case with the renovated Benchmark International Arena, Florida’s premier entertainment venue and home of the three-time Stanley Cup champion, Tampa Bay Lightning. Boasting unique features like lightning-throwing Tesla coils, the 11,000 square-foot Budweiser Biergarten with incredible views of the city and a massive five-manual, 105-rank digital pipe organ, Benchmark International Arena consistently ranks among the very best venues in the United States. The best part? This is only the beginning.


  • Responsible for stocking products for the bar, including nonalcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages, icing wells, sweeping and mopping the bar, collecting empty liquor bottles, moving kegs in and out of keg coolers, and tapping kegs.
  • Drafting beer and pouring wine for guest orders, running supplies for bartenders back up fruit, napkins, cups, utensils, and stirrers.    
  • Assures that the location equipment is operable and clean prior to the start of the event.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bar and surrounding areas utilizing sanitation procedures; this includes mopping floors, cleaning and stacking floor mats, emptying and relining trash cans, and keeping closet areas clear of debris and clutter.
  • Responsible for recognizing guests that are visibly intoxicated and taking action to make bartenders aware of such individuals.
  • Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
  • Show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
  • Other duties as necessary, as directed by the assigned location Supervisors and Managers.

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner that focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment.
  • Possess a valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit if required by state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) as they relate to product inventory.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume bar capacity is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods during events. 
  • Able to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch. 
  • The employee is frequently required to lift heavy objects.
