Temporary Budget Specialist
Location: Hinsdale, IL (Hybrid)
Position Type: Temporary (3-6+ Months)
Pay Rate: $30.00 - $40.00/hour (depending on experience)
About the Role
Our client, a well-established organization in the western suburbs of Chicago, is seeking a detail-oriented Budget Specialist to join their finance team on a temporary basis. This role will support budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and expense analysis while partnering with departmental leaders to ensure accurate financial planning and budget management.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of annual budgets and forecasts
  • Monitor department spending and identify budget variances
  • Prepare budget reports, financial analyses, and ad hoc reporting
  • Track expenditures and reconcile budget accounts
  • Support month-end and year-end financial processes
  • Collaborate with department managers regarding budget planning and monitoring
  • Analyze financial data and identify trends or discrepancies
  • Maintain budget documentation and ensure compliance with company policies
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of budgeting, financial analysis, accounting, or related experience
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, or PeopleSoft preferred
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
