La Posada Interim Housing for Homeless Families (B.A./BSW-level Students)

Since 1989, La Posada has offered apartment-style interim housing and supportive services to families experiencing homelessness. Through a comprehensive network of supportive services, including individualized case management, counseling support, food and clothing assistance, job readiness training, employment assistance, and informal childcare, La Posada helps families move from homelessness to independent, permanent housing.

Population served: Families experiencing homelessness

Internship learning opportunities: assist in conducting family assessments, developing service plans and providing case management services for resident families; assist in providing educational parent/family trainings and/or workshops, participate in program evaluation and performance and quality improvement activities, assist with development of job resumes, job readiness trainings, conduct educational/vocational assessments and services, support annual Hunger and Homelessness Awareness campaign activities, provide information and referral to other community services, assist with After School program activities and special events, accompany family support workers on home visits.

Internship hours/scheduling available: Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm

Requirements:

Must comply with agency background checks, as well as drug and TB testing.

Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
