Job description

BSC Customer Service Representative

Eads - San Antonio, TX 78210

Job Summary

The Customer Service Representative serves as a primary customer contact person. This role will enter purchase orders into the computer system, prepare quotes and answer inquiries relating to orders, product, delivery lead times and other product/company information.

Job Functions and Responsibilities

Receive customer purchase orders by e-mail, e-commerce or other Internet means, fax and telephone.

Enter purchase orders into computer. Annotate customer number; create sales order number and shipping date. Ensure price and minimum order quantity accuracy.

Handle orders and correspondence related to various accounts.

Maintain current customer services workbook, including price sheets, promotional materials, and other documents as required.

Quote product prices based on customer category.

Coordinate and communicate with Warehouse Manager to ensure timely delivery of orders.

Address customer concerns and complaints; keep Quality Control involved in any customer feedback as per ISO requirements.

Maintain a library of directories.

Prepare and distribute reports.

Provide E-Commerce Support functions include answering phone calls, new customer account setup, processing orders, and preparing purchase orders.

Source products at the best price.

Organize and electronically file paperwork.

Prepare daily packing slips for BSCs

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or the equivalent

Two to four years of experience in customer service

Skills/Abilities:

Ability to operate standard office equipment, including copy machine, fax machine, scanner and telephone

Ability to operate computer and software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and job specific software

Ability to remember stock numbers and price changes

Knowledge of basic math

Ability to work independently

Effective written and verbal communication skills, including communication over the phone and e-mail

Ability to investigate and resolve problems with customers

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Occasional standing and walking to file paperwork, retrieve materials, or coordinate with warehouse staff.

Occasionally required to bend, reach, or kneel to access files or supplies.

Must be able to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs.
