Job description

Job Duties: Vice President, Software Engineering with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Dallas, Texas. Design, deploy, and maintain SingleStore, MongoDB, Sybase and Cloud database environments to support mission-critical applications and workloads. Develop and implement best practices for database administration, including backup and recovery strategies, monitoring, and performance optimization. Partner with our identity & access management and middleware engineering teams to ensure the latest identity and entitlement best practices are integrated into the SingleStore, MongoDB, ecosystem to meet our data security needs. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner, ensuring high availability and reliability of database systems. Perform capacity planning and scalability assessments to support the growth of data volumes and user traffic. Assist in driving improvements in our database release mechanisms & SDLC process integration, ideally with automated integration testing which includes performance and scale tests. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in SingleStore, MongoDB and Cloud database technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance our data platform. Design, implement and maintain robust testing suites to enable safe, complete, and scalable solutions across our business lines.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Information Systems or a related field and five (5) years of experience in job offered or a related role OR Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Information Systems or a related field and three (3) years of experience in job offered or a related role. Prior experience must include five (5) years with Bachelor's OR three (3) years with Master's with the following: relational and NoSQL database technologies, including MySQL, SingleStore, DB2, MongoDB or Cassandra; support and maintenance of SingleStore database environments; distributed systems and Big Data platforms, including Hadoop (HDFS and YARN) and related data processing frameworks; Python and Unix shell scripting for automation, monitoring, and ETL workflows; event-driven architecture technologies such as Kafka; database query languages, including SQL or NoSQL technologies, and database query tuning and optimization; and cloud infrastructure technologies such as AWS or Azure.
