Job description

Overview

The schedule is flexible, with work hours generally available during the day and during some weekday evenings when data collection is taking place.

The Stephens Family Clinical Research Institute (SFCRI) at Carle Health would like to hire up to six student research assistants. The positions are in the Carle Clinical Imaging Research Program, a multi-faculty research group focused on clinical and translational biomedical imaging research. Carle and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign jointly own and operate a 7T Siemens MAGNETOM Terra MRI scanner, which is used for both research and clinical imaging. Other imaging resources include two 3T Siemens MRI scanners, ultrasound, and near-infrared spectroscopy. The student research assistant positions will assist researchers at the SFCRI in research projects involving biomedical imaging. A variety of opportunities are available, including quality assurance analysis for cardiac MRI, study of human skeletal muscle and brown adipose tissue, and magnetic resonance spectroscopy of the brain and other organs. The ideal candidate will be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering or biomedical science discipline; have completed coursework in Calculus and linear algebra; be experienced with scientific programming; and have outstanding work habits and organizational skills.

Writes final progress report at end of employment period. Salary RangeThe compensation range for this position is $15per hour - $24.32per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
