Ag Brokerage Solutions, a Farmers Mutual Hail (FMH) company, is seeking an individual to broker insurance products between retail insurance agencies and partner insurance carriers, finding and placing coverage options for commercial insurance products. Will manage and support placement of coverages with carriers by acting as an intermediary during the underwriting, rating, and quoting process. Services portfolio of accounts following placement of business with carriers to maintain and grow business. Serves as a brokerage leader and area expert.

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience: 10 or more years of commercial lines underwriting or brokerage experience.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Agriculture, Business, or related field (Associates Degree required).

Skills: Insurance brokerage expertise gained from years of applied insurance experience required. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs especially Word and Excel. Experience with multiple carrier quoting systems and management systems, specifically Vertafore (AIM; ImageRight), is highly desired.

Licenses or Certifications: Insurance license, CPCU, CIC or comparable designations required. Experience with Surplus lines highly desired.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as brokerage leader and subject matter expert regarding brokerage services. Assists Brokerage Manager with development of brokerage office including processes and practices.
  • Analyzes submissions from retail agents and quickly determines the best available carrier and coverages. Utilizes carrier systems and internal management systems for brokerage processing.
  • Rates, quotes, and binds submitted accounts with carriers, determining acceptability, coverage options, and pricing options for both small and large accounts.
  • Facilitates various insurance underwriting processes on behalf of Ag Brokerage Solutions (ABS) carriers, partners, and agencies in alignment with ABS and partner guidelines, requirements, and standards.
  • Owns and manages relationships between agency, carrier partners, and ABS, serving as lead client contact for ABS-brokered business. Builds, maintains, and grows a book of business related to ABS-brokered products with agencies and their insurance customers.
  • Provides ongoing service and support to agencies and insureds to maintain portfolio of insured accounts following placement of coverages.
  • Develops and maintains deep expertise in insurance solutions for specific product lines, industry segments, and business types.
