Job description

40/29 the ABC affiliate in Rogers, AR is seeking a Broadcast Systems Technician (BST) to join our Technology team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, working across a wide variety of systems, and supporting the technology that keeps television stations on the air.ย ย 

You'll gain hands-on experience across:ย 

  • Broadcast engineeringย

  • RF and transmitter operationsย ย 
  • Remote broadcast supportย ย

What You'll Doย ย 

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair broadcast and IT systems to support reliable station operationsย ย 
  • Support live broadcasts and remote productions, including setup, monitoring, and troubleshootingย ย 
  • Execute and improve preventative maintenance programsย ย 
  • Install, configure, and maintain:ย ย 
  • Managed network switchesย ย 
  • Servers and workstationsย ย 
  • IP-based broadcast systemsย ย 
  • Production and routing equipmentย ย 
  • Provide technical support to News, Production, Creative Services, Sales, and Administration teamsย ย 
  • Travel as needed to transmitter sites, remote locations, and live event venuesย ย 
  • Document systems, workflows, and technical proceduresย ย 
  • Collaborate with Engineering and IT teams on system upgrades and new technology deploymentsย ย 
  • Support GatesAir transmitters and satellite systemsย ย 

What We're Looking Forย ย 

Experienceย ย 

  • Experience with managed network switches and IP-based systemsย ย 
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking, VPNs, and LAN/WAN environmentsย ย 
  • Experience supporting servers, workstations, and network infrastructureย ย 
  • Familiarity with broadcast equipment and live production environmentsย ย 
  • Experience with Windows desktop and server operating systemsย ย 
  • Knowledge of RF, transmitter, or satellite systems is a plusย ย 
  • Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, or related certificationsย ย 
  • SBE certificationย ย 
  • Military communications or technical training backgroundย ย 
  • AV, IT support, or systems integration experienceย ย
