Position Title:

Graduate Assistant - eSports

Job Description:

The Esports Graduate Assistant serves as a part of the team in the Esports Program at Mount St. Mary's University. This position is primarily responsible for assisting the Program in a variety of ways, including summer camps, varsity teams, event planning, assessment, recruiting, and retention. The GA will have opportunities to engage with esports professionally and take ownership over projects within their area of expertise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Depending on the specific skill set of the GA, duties may include:

  • Coaching a varsity team (League of Legends, Overwatch, Smash Bros, Rocket League, Valorant).
  • Organizing and running summer camps.
  • Assisting with travel for our teams to local tournaments.
  • Overseeing the expansion of our streams and broadcasting.
  • High school outreach and student recruitment.
  • Assistance with campus programming and events.
  • Organizing charitable events like our yearly 24-hour stream.
  • Troubleshooting and managing hardware and software issues in our esports facility, Purcell Hall.

Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Must be accepted into a graduate program at Mount St. Mary's University.
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Salary/Hours/Benefits

  • A stipend of $6000 per academic year.
  • 15 hours per week for 12 months (August - July)
  • Tuition Remission Benefits (2 courses in the fall and 2 courses in the spring).
