Job description

Broadband Network Technician
Kingdom Networks
Auxvasse, MO
Full-Time | In Person
$60,000 - $75,000 per year
Overview
Kingdom Networks is seeking a Broadband Network Technician to support and maintain our fiber broadband network and customer systems. This role is ideal for someone with solid networking fundamentals, strong troubleshooting ability, and the mindset to independently solve problems without needing constant direction.
This is not a pure desk-engineering position. The right candidate should be comfortable handling a mix of network support, provisioning, troubleshooting, customer escalations, and occasional field work. One day may involve troubleshooting GPON provisioning issues or Wi-Fi performance problems, while another may involve assisting with transport equipment, VoIP provisioning, or supporting network upgrades.
We are looking for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, works calmly under pressure, and takes pride in keeping systems reliable and customers connected.
Kingdom Networks operates a modern fiber broadband network serving rural communities across central Missouri. Our environment is stable, professionally managed, and built around long-term reliability rather than constant chaos or “firefighting.”
Essential Responsibilities
  • Support and maintain broadband network infrastructure including:
  • GPON/XGS-PON systems
  • Cisco routing and switching
  • Carrier transport systems
  • Access network equipment
  • Customer premise equipment including ONTs and residential gateways
  • Provision and troubleshoot:
  • Internet services
  • VoIP services
  • ONTs and customer equipment
  • Advanced residential Wi-Fi issues
  • Assist field technicians with service turn-ups, troubleshooting, and escalated technical issues
  • Monitor network performance and respond to outages or service-impacting events
  • Participate in on-call rotation and occasional after-hours maintenance windows
  • Perform occasional field work in central offices, cabinets, and network facilities
  • Maintain documentation for network changes, deployments, and troubleshooting procedures
  • Support Windows and Linux-based systems used within the organization
  • Work independently to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues efficiently

Preferred Skills & Experience
We understand strong technicians come from many backgrounds. Applicants will primarily be evaluated on troubleshooting ability, technical aptitude, and willingness to learn.
Experience with the following is preferred:
  • Cisco routing and switching
  • Calix access platforms (EXA/AXOS)
  • GPON/XGS-PON technologies
  • Broadband ISP or telecom environments
  • LAN/WAN networking
  • DNS and DHCP
  • VoIP provisioning and troubleshooting
  • Cisco Firepower firewalls
  • Linux systems administration
  • Carrier transport networking

Ideal candidates are typically in the early-to-mid stages of their career and looking for a stable, long-term technical role with room to continue learning and growing.
Formal degrees are not required. Technical certifications are welcomed but not mandatory.
What We’re Looking For
  • Independent problem solver
  • Curious and mechanically minded
  • Calm and steady during outages or troubleshooting situations
  • Able to communicate clearly with both technical staff and field personnel
  • Comfortable balancing both network infrastructure work and customer-impacting support tasks
  • Reliable and detail-oriented

Why Kingdom Networks?
  • Stable and professionally operated network environment
  • Modern fiber broadband infrastructure
  • Small team where your work directly matters
  • Strong community focus
  • Opportunity to work with cutting-edge broadband technology
  • Long-term career stability in a growing organization
  • Excellent retirement benefits and competitive insurance package

Benefits
