  • Mentor staff across the structural group
  • Coordinate tasks and project schedules
  • Communicate with clients regarding project issues, schedules, and budgets
  • Assist with proposal production and marketing initiatives
  • Teach educational courses when assigned
  • Serve as discipline lead for project tasks or disciplines when assigned
  • Perform detailed technical peer reviews
  • Maintain technical knowledge through training, seminars, professional publications, and in-house systems or management training
  • Verify quality standards and project deadlines are met
  • Maintain client satisfaction
  • Oversee the project safety Health and Safety Plan
  • Coordinate directly with client Project Representatives
  • Provide regular status reports to the Structural Department Manager
Requirements
  • Masterโ€™s Degree in Structural Engineering
  • Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) license and Structural Engineer (S.E.) license
  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Experience with Illinois bridge design and maintenance policies and procedures
  • Experience with complex bridge analysis and design using finite element software
  • Excellent client skills and ability to develop solid client relationships
  • Involvement with industry and professional organizations
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting to support and lead projects
  • Ability to assist in developing strategic business and operations approaches
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driverโ€™s license
  • Excellent English language skills, written and verbal
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Familiarity and experience with computer-aided bridge design and analysis tools, including finite element and bridge load rating tools
