Job Description:

E.S. Wagner Co. has an immediate opening for a Senior Project Manager, Bridge / Structures Division.ย  The Senior Project Manager is a management representative regarding all matters and issues related to the structures Division.ย  This individual will be responsible to implement the company's strategic growth plans into an actionable and defined operational plan. This position will oversee the day-to-day activities of the structures and bridge construction division, estimating, and will be responsible for the identification, acquisition, and profitable completion of the projects to meet the goals.
Leadership:

  • Provide daily leadership to a staff of Project and Field Managers responsible for the planning and execution of projects
  • Identify and recommend projects to bid/pursue based on a thorough understanding of current commitments, resource availability, management strategy, geography, and competitive advantage
  • Lead the estimating process once a project is selected to pursue
  • Participate in E.S. Wagner's highly collaborative bid review process, in an open-minded manner, such that the end goal is arriving at the best overall approach, regardless of who authors it
  • Work closely to prioritize key activities on projects in various stages from preconstruction through closeout
  • Ensure on-time project delivery, excellent status communication, and reporting to internal and external parties
  • Coordinate with other department heads and senior managers to ensure projects are properly designed, planned, and completed on budget and on time
  • Work in conjunction with all E.S. Wagner teams to create, own and maintain schedules, budgets, and contracts during the project planning process
  • Participate in the development and implementation of safety plans and procedures
  • Be a key problem solver to issues affecting the rapid and high-quality delivery of projects

Strategy:

  • Create, manage and track operational improvements and progress towards organizational goals
  • Drive forecasting, value engineering, safety, and employee training/ development
  • Identify solutions and strategies that improve operational performance and efficiency
  • Manage employee issues; performance reviews, recruiting, mentoring, and growth

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree. Construction Management / Construction Engineering or similar focus
  • Minimum 7-10+ years of progressive construction experience in the structures/bridge construction industry
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct field and supervision experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of estimating experience
  • Strong history of delivering construction projects on time and on budget
  • Expert knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and budging processes and tools
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee numerous construction sites simultaneously
  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills to manage the activities of internal and external resources
  • Department-level financial responsibility, budget creation, and management
  • Expert knowledge of contracting process, commercial terms, subcontractor relationship management, contract negotiation, dispute resolution, and risk mitigation
  • Exhibited success with process development and implementation, change management, and growth
  • Ability to interface smoothly at senior management level internally and externally
