Osborn Engineering is seeking Bridge Project Managers with 10+ years of experience on ODOT-type design projects for our office locations. Primary responsibilities will include serving as a design engineer on bridge projects and other miscellaneous structural projects. Typical bridge projects include steel beam/girder, preโ€‘stressed concrete, concrete slabs, and earthโ€‘filled arches for various clients including the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), Counties, Municipalities, and private owners.

This position will report to the Manager of Transportation Engineering and will work closely with the Director of Municipal and Transportation Engineering, other Transportation Project Managers, and senior engineers to ensure the growth and mentorship of our team members.

Position Responsibilities
  • Active team member performing designs for various types of bridge improvement projects throughout the State of Ohio.
  • Prepare preliminary and detailed design plans, quantities, specifications, and probable construction cost estimates.
  • Perform critical thinking in development, evaluation, selection, and modification of standards engineering techniques and procedures.
  • May have occasional client and/or subโ€‘consultant contact regarding current design projects.
  • May require periodic field construction observation and responding to Request for Information during construction phase.
Job Requirements/Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Civil Engineering with 10+ years of experience in bridge design and inspection.
  • Design and detailing experience per ODOT Bridge Standards.
  • Experience with MicroStation, Geopak, AutoCAD Civil 3D w/Ohio State Kit.
  • Skilled in structural analysis programs and bridge design software.
  • Familiarity with the American Association of Highway & Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Bridge Design Specifications is desired.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Continuous education and training on the job is required.
