GPD is currently seeking a Bridge Engineer to join our growing Transportation group in the Pittsburgh office.
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Engineer with 3+ years of bridge design experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering a plus.
  • Successfully passed EIT.
  • Knowledge of AASHTO/PennDOT policies and standard procedures applicable for the analysis, evaluation, and design of various bridge types.
  • Strong technical/computer software skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel), AutoCAD, Microstation and with PennDOT design software programs.
  • Experience working on PennDOT/PTC projects.
  • Experience in reading and fully understanding bridge construction drawings for transportation projects.
  • Bridge inspection certification (CBSI) and/or experience a plus
  • Ability to work within a team environment working with individuals from various offices and in various disciplines through all phases of design.
  • Valid Driver’s License is required.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Technical problem-solving.
  • Engineering design and documentation with an emphasis in Bridge Construction projects.
  • Preparing bridge construction drawings, calculate bridge rebars and bridge quantity.
  • Performing bridge inspections with professional engineers up to 5% of the time.
  • Preparation of construction documents based upon field surveys, available resources, and client requirements.
  • Supporting projects with technical design and documentation using MicroStation and AutoCAD.
