Position Summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Skilled Highway Maintenance Technicians to work on the Bridge Crew to perform advanced maintenance operations in the US, primarily in TX. This crew will be based in the San Antonio,TX area and must be able to work night shift. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway bridge repair maintenance, concrete repair, and bridge joint maintenance while adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.
Travel Requirements: 75% of the time, overnight travel. First 6 months of work are scheduled in Central TX, but not guaranteed to remain in San Antonio.

Required Experience:

  • Candidate must have knowledge of all aspects of concrete bridge repair
  • Concrete structure repair
  • Amour, finger joint repair, and replacement
  • Repair and installation of various styles of joint products
  • Installation polymer nosing, asphalt plug, and silicone
  • Should be well versed in equipment operations.
  • Sawing, jack hammer, chipping hammer, and rivet buster
  • Working knowledge of hot pour rubber machines, and crack seal
  • Sand blasting and welding
  • Knowledge of traffic control devices and lane closures etc.
  • Knowledge of steel bridge repair 
  • Exposure to using shovels, weed trimming machinery, brooms, & various small hand tools
  • Air compressor operations familiarity
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience
  • Must have a valid Driver's License- Class A is a plus
  • Construction or Roadway maintenance experience
  • Guardrail and sign experience
  • Concrete forming/repair experience
  • MOT (Traffic control certifications/courses)
  • Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, Fork Lift, Asphalt Roller, and etc.
  • Clean driving record is essential 
  • Must pass criminal background check 


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
  • Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
  • Carry out simple arithmetic functions
  • Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
  • Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
  • Ability to use smart phone and applications
  • Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
  • Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate hand/power tools
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required


Schedule:
Full time; Night shift. Must be able to work weather events such as snow, ice, and floods.
