Job description

STV is seeking a talented and motivated Structural Bridge Engineering Specialist to join our Transportation team in one of our Pennsylvania offices.
If you enjoy solving complex structural challenges and want to work on impactful infrastructure projects across the region, we'd love to connect with you.
In this role, you'll apply your technical expertise to the design of new bridges and the rehabilitation of existing structures, helping shape the transportation systems that communities rely on every day.
You can be based in one of our PA offices: Locations: Douglassville, Harrisburg, Philadelphia, or Pittsburgh, PA
What You'll Be Doing
  • Designing and analyzing new and existing bridges, including rehabilitation and seismic retrofit projects
  • Working on highway bridges, railroad bridges, and transportation facility structures (primarily in Pennsylvania)
  • Participating in Design-Build projects and proposal pursuits
  • Performing Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) for transportation projects
  • Preparing contract documents, including drawings and specifications
  • Conducting bridge load ratings using LRFR and LFD methodologies
  • Reviewing construction-phase submittals
  • Performing design calculations, developing plan details, quantity take-offs, and technical reports

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred)
  • 2-5 years of relevant bridge design experience
  • EIT required (PE preferred)
  • Experience with PennDOT and PA Turnpike projects (NJ, NY, or other authority experience is a plus)
  • Strong background in bridge analysis and rehabilitation design
  • Proficiency in MicroStation and STAAD (or similar analysis software)
  • Experience with CSI Bridge and/or OpenBridge Designer is a plus
  • Knowledge of specification writing and cost estimating
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • CBSI certification is a plus
  • Interest or experience in mentoring and supporting team development

$79,979.92 - $91,405.62
