Job description

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist (Mammography/Breast) requiring ARDMS Breast Specialty certification (RDMS-BR) and 1-2 years of breast ultrasound experience.
Job Details
• Work in the Breast Care Center performing breast ultrasound exams exclusively,
• Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM,
• 40 hours per week, 8-hour day shifts,
• Uses Epic for charting and documentation,
Job Requirements
• 1-2 years of experience in breast ultrasound preferred,
• Current BLS certification through AHA,
• Active RDMS (BR) certification from ARDMS required,
• Registered with ARDMS with a registry pertinent to the department beyond physics,
• High school diploma or GED required,
• License required if applicable,
• Epic charting experience preferred,
• Ability to lift, bend, carry, push, and pull equipment and supplies, including heavy items,
• Ability to stand for extended periods and navigate busy clinical environments,
• Manual dexterity to operate delicate imaging equipment with precision,
• Strong verbal communication skills, including during emergency situations,
• Date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration,
Additional Information
• Perform breast ultrasound exams under physician direction to assist in patient diagnosis,
• Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and exam preparation,
• Review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy,
• Instruct students and other radiology techs in exam protocols and positioning,
• Provide patient education and ensure patient comfort throughout exams,
• Practice infection control and sterile techniques,
• Maintain accurate records of patient information and procedures performed,
• Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, and quality control programs,
• Report equipment failures according to department protocol,
• Work independently as well as collaboratively within a care team,
• Returning employees must be separated from any facility within this health system for at least one year before being eligible for a new travel assignment
