Job description

Job Summary
  • The Clinical Mammography Technologist performs mammography procedures on patients and processes the images for interpretation by a Physician.

Job Responsibilities
  • Produce consistently high-quality mammography, breast ultrasound, and related imaging activities. Accurately positions patients and safely administers imaging services to allow capture of clear and accurate images.
  • Demonstrate competencies in mammography, breast ultrasound, breast interventional and bone densitometry.
  • Maintains quality control for both locations to adhere to stringent FDA guidelines.
  • Completes and records the hand hygiene logs weekly/ Quality and safety forms monthly for the Noblesville Bone and Breast center.
  • Performs the EQUIP program for the MQSA guidelines by recording and tracking radiologist and technologist skill levels and performance.
  • Maintains pathology results and records appropriately to maintain annual MQSA audit. Communicates pathology results to physician offices and patients. Completes information management responsibilities
  • Proficient to organize, plan, and conduct activities relating to patient and procedures in the Center ensuring a smooth operation. Appropriately interacts with the health care team.
  • Delivers excellence in customer service and portrays a warm, yet professional image of the Center and its employees to patients, providers, and the healthcare team.
  • Must demonstrate a knowledge of team dynamics and contribute to team building and skills related to participation in and strengthening of the multidisciplinary team approach to the delivery of patient care.
  • Exercise judgement in the interpretation and application of policies and procedures to assure compliance with state, federal, and local requirements.
  • Participate in continuing education and learning experiences to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills for continued competence.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Education Requirements
  • Minimum: Graduate of an approved Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
  • Preferred: Breast Ultrasound

Experience Requirements
  • Minimum: None
  • Preferred: Two (2) years of experience in mammography

License/Certification Requirements
Minimum:
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in radiology and mammography or mammography eligible
  • Basic Life Safety (American Heart Association)
