The Country Club of Rochester is a prestigious Platinum Club of America and one of the country's oldest clubs with deep roots in the community. This is a great chance to be part of a devoted team who takes pride in providing excellent service. We are seeking qualified and dedicated individuals to fill the Breakfast Cook- Thistle Grill Position!

Job Summary:

Under the general guidance and supervision of the Chef de Cuisine, Breakfast Cook is expected to perform with an elevated understanding of culinary techniques, requiring minimal supervision. This role demands the ability to independently execute tasks and make sound decisions while maintaining CCR’s culinary standards

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Prepare breakfast, lunch, and other menu items following CCR recipes, specifications, and culinary standards, with a strong emphasis on consistent breakfast execution.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in breakfast cookery, including eggs prepared to order, omelets, breakfast meats, griddle items, potatoes, and other traditional breakfast preparations.
  • Report to all scheduled shifts on time, in uniform, and prepared to begin work at the scheduled start time, recognizing the importance of punctuality in an early-morning breakfast operation.
  • Maintain dependable and consistent attendance. Communicate any unavoidable absence or delay promptly and according to CCR call-out procedures.
  • Independently set up, stock, and organize the breakfast line and assigned service stations prior to service.
  • Execute food quickly and efficiently during high-volume breakfast and brunch service while maintaining quality, proper cooking temperatures, and presentation standards.
  • Serve all items according to portion, recipe, and presentation standards established by the Chef de Cuisine.
  • Notify the Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine immediately of anticipated shortages, equipment issues, or operational concerns that could impact service.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of assigned work areas and equipment throughout the shift.
  • Support the Sous Chef and Chef de Cuisine in maintaining kitchen safety, sanitation, and security standards.
  • Properly set up and break down cooking stations, ensuring stations are clean, organized, and prepared for the following shift.
  • Properly cool, cover, label, date, rotate, and store all reusable food products according to CCR standards.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency, accountability, teamwork, and ownership during all meal periods.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for the CCR Culinary Department by consistently demonstrating professionalism, reliability, and leadership.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position, particularly due to early-morning breakfast and weekend service requirements.
  • Must be able and willing to consistently work scheduled early-morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by Club operations.
  • Strong knowledge of breakfast cookery and the ability to execute eggs and other breakfast items accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to work at a rapid pace while maintaining attention to detail, organization, and food quality.
  • Prepare and serve food consistently according to CCR recipes, specifications, and presentation standards.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and the ability to have assigned stations completely prepared prior to service.
  • Develop familiarity with member names and personally recognize members and guests whenever possible.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team-oriented kitchen environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to eight hours; bend, push, pull, and lift up to 30 pounds.

Education and Experience:

  • Prior experience at a Golf Club or Country Club is preferred
