Copper Kings is looking for 2 part-time morning bread bakers to join our new Oceanside location team at 326 N. Horne Street. Our ideal candidate is prompt, responsible, self-driven, curious, engaged, open to correction, works well independently and as a member of a team, and possesses a keen attention to detail. Applicants should be available 3 - 4 days per week for 5 - 7 hours per shift, including weekend days.
Job Description - Morning Bread Baker
The Morning Bread Baker is responsible for reliably producing consistent burger buns, sandwich breads, and baking morning pastries and cookies for Copper Kings. The Bread Baker will report to the Head Baker and complete all baking-related tasks accurately and efficiently, to company specification.


The baker must be able to stand for the duration of their shift and withstand the heat of open ovens while performing their job duties. The baker will utilize the full range of physical motion that includes bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, hand-rolling dough, and the lifting and carrying of raw materials that can weigh as much as 50 pounds. The baker must be able to clearly and effectively communicate with team members, read instructions, and read and write labels in English.
Basic tasks that must be executed include:
Bake and store standard burger buns
Pre-baking prep - Crack eggs, accurately scale ingredients, make starter, store all ingredients properly according to San Diego County Health Department standards
Bring together the bread dough according to Copper Kings specifications
Hand-roll buns
Proof buns
Bake to specification, managing ovens and tray rotation
Cleaning and maintenance:
Thoroughly clean, maintain, and manage all appliances, work spaces, and special tools needed for bread production.
Properly store bread products / Inventory management:
FIFO unused product
Consolidate and properly store product
Slice and package buns and bread for retail, wholesale, and catering sales
Additional responsibilities:
Bake and package house rye and focaccia loaves
Bake and display house cookies and morning pastries
