Job description

Sense of Occasion, a premier full-service catering company known for elevated events and exceptional hospitality, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Commissary Baker to join our culinary team. If you have a passion for precision, creativity with pastry, and thrive in a production-based kitchen, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cookies, and desserts based on catering menus and production needs
  • Scale and follow recipes with consistency and accuracy
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and Pastry Lead to plan weekly bakes and production timelines
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation in accordance with health and safety standards
  • Label, store, and rotate baked goods for event prep and delivery
  • Assist in packaging and prepping baked items for transport to offsite events
  • Operate commercial baking equipment (mixers, convection ovens, proofers, etc.)
Requirements:

  • 13 years of professional baking experience (commissary or catering preferred)
  • Experience with Breads is a must from lean doughs to lamination
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and production sheets
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Schedule can be variable
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
  • Food Handlers Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
