We have three baking facilities: Brooklyn, New York, our history; Newark, NJ, our coprorate offices and primary bakery; Clifton, NJ, our newest and largest bakery, as well as our R&D center. All sites comply with SQF practices; all sites have highest standards for occupational safety. In total we employ more than 400 people, some who have grown alongside us for 30+ years. In each of the past six years we have been named One of New Jersey's Best Places to Work.We have a very strong- and even historic- presence in the Metro New York market, originally for our Pitas, in recent years for a host of Flatbreads, which include Lavash, Wraps, Pizza Crusts, Buns, and more. We now serve the National Market, inclusive many top tier Quick Serving Restaurants (QSR), Casual Dining Restuarants, Food Service Establishments, Meal Kit Providers, Retail, Club and Natural Stores, Institutions, Distributors, and other Bakeries. In recent years we introduced to the Retail Market our BROOKLYN BRED SINCE 1930 Brand of products, which include our Award Winning Pizza Crusts, along with other Brooklyn favorites, and with more to come. With the recent start up of our Clifton Bakery, we hope to expand our product line to include sweet and savory baked goods, snacks, and culinary offerings.We are looking for an Innovative “Hands-On” Baking/R&D Director: Must have experience in bread baking; experience in pastry arts and other baked goods a plus;Should have experience with Fermentation, Laminated Sheeting Doughs and Artisan Breads;Should have the capacity to Commerialize Products with High Speed Automated Baking Equipment;Must have ‘Trouble Shooting’ mind frame;Extensive knowledge of flours and grains as well as ancillary baking ingredients;Knowledge of Food Science & Technology;Knowledge of Basic Nutrition a plus;Culinary Skills a plus;HAACP and SQF;Willingness to assist Sales & Marketing at Customer Presentations and Food Shows a plus;Must have Excellent Communication and Working Skills with fellow employees;Must be willing to live or re-locate to the Northern New Jersey area; All resumes with references should be emailed.
