Whitaker Publishing is a regional lifestyle company in southwest Missouri. The multimedia company owns and produces 417 Magazine, Biz 417, 417mag.com, biz417.com, 417 Custom Publishing and high impact thought leadership events.
417 is looking for an Account Executive to drive revenue growth by selling advertising space across all platforms in alignment with company processes while representing the brand in a professional way. This involves building and maintaining relationships with clients, identifying potential advertising opportunities, negotiating deals, and ensuring that revenue targets are met or exceeded. Additional duties include:
  • Meet or exceed revenue goals by selling advertising packages.
  • Identify and pursue new advertising opportunities through networking events and cold calling.
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Prepare and present sales proposals and pitches to clients.
  • Understand company policies, including financial, production, and editorial policies, and communicate them to clients.
  • Collaborate with the digital and marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns.
  • Attend relevant trade shows and 417 signature events.

The ideal candidate will excel in professional communication, have a strong attention to detail, demonstrate good judgment and represent themselves and the company through the mission and core values of 417 through any interactions inside or outside of the office and online with co-workers and the public.
Evaluations and Outcomes:
  • The position will be evaluated after 90 days with annual performance reviews.

Working Conditions
  • Normal working conditions in an office environment absent extreme factors. Travel will be required, even after hours or on weekends, for local community events.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of sales experience required; 7+ preferred and familiarity with Sandler Selling Methodology is a plus
  • Strong presentation and communication skills-both verbal and written
