WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The Director, Brand & Communications - Origins will take a leadership role in shaping Origins' global brand direction - ensuring a cohesive experience across product, communication, retail, and cultural initiatives.
We are looking for a seasoned marketer with a passion for brand building, communication, and creative strategy.
This is a hybrid, 3 days in office role, based out of our Soho NYC office.
PAY RANGE
The anticipated base salary for this position is $137,000 to $170,000.
Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location.
WHAT YOU'D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE
  • Own the overall Origins global brand vision and positioning
  • Translate the brand's philosophy into a scalable brand strategy, creating layers of storytelling and impactful ways to connect with consumers
  • Responsible for defining brand & communications direction, product positioning, PR strategies, seeding efforts, and other go-to-market tactics that will build engagement, talkability and purchase intent
  • Lead seasonal narratives and campaign concepts
  • Develop and own all brand foundational elements (target consumer, positioning, tone messaging, and beyond)
  • Lead storytelling strategy across earned, owned, and paid channels working in close partnership with digital, social, comms, and commercial teams
  • Lead Social Media team in developing content strategy, and engagement tactics
  • Work closely with Art Director and Creative team to define the brand & creative approach for each brand
  • Work with the Commercial team and support the creation of sell-in material, pitch decks, and beyond. Partner closely in planning and distribution discussions
  • Act as key point of contact and ensure the business and key stakeholders are updated on projects, soliciting feedback and engagement when needed
  • Build and mentor a small but high-impact team focused on creativity and agility. This will include Social Media, Brand, Communication, and Digital Brand Management.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE
  • 10+ years of experience in brand - ideally within consumer brands, startups, or agencies. You should have a strong understanding of the beauty industry and consumer sentiment with extensive branding knowledge as related to other industries such as fashion, lifestyle, etc.
  • 5+ years of people management and /or leadership experience is required
  • Proven experience building brands from early stages or leading rebrands
  • A strong storyteller with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strategic thinker with a highly creative eye and strong cultural instincts
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and moving quickly in a test-and-learn environment
