What will your day look like?
You will be responsible for shaping the company's public image and operationalizing the brand internally and externally. This strategic storyteller is responsible for creating brand moments through communications that drive brand awareness and member satisfaction. The Senior Manager will serve as the internal face of the company's brand strategy, serving as the bridge between marketing and the business with the ultimate goal of increasing awareness of the company as a financial institution and employer. The incumbent is both strategic and tactical and works closely with internal marketing partners, human capital, and other business units. The incumbent is responsible for media relations, social media, content creation, member communications, and internal culture and communications initiatives. General direction is received from the VP, Head of Marketing.
Responsibilities

  • Set strategy for public relations, social media, content marketing, and brand ambassador program to elevate the brand through thought leadership, targeted outreach and reputation management
  • Lead the development of creative, strategic brand-building content programs across all owned and earned channels to drive consumer engagement and brand preference
  • Create strong PR programs to increase consumer engagement and drive awareness through traditional and new media opportunities
  • Expand the company's social impact initiative to close the digital divide
  • Design and oversee the company's member communications strategy to ensure members have a consistent, clear and seamless brand experience across marketing and banking channels and throughout the membership journey
  • Drive, in collaboration with all business units, in bringing the company's guiding principles to fruition
  • Design and oversee the company's internal communications strategy to help employees live the brand through brand journalism, brand ambassadors, intranet resources, trainings and communications
  • Design and oversee the company's organic social media strategy to elevate the brand through timely and relevant content
  • Manage annual PR and social impact initiative budgets to optimize programs impact
  • Work with and execute contracts with external agencies as needed
  • Establish measurable, achievable goals and provide consistent reporting
  • Prioritize and manage projects within an agile marketing framework
  • Lead the company's Communications Committee, a cross-functional team from member-facing departments that works to reduce communications defects to improve member experience and mitigate call/email volume to member care center
  • Serve as liaison between marketing and the business for member-impacting enterprise projects where communications strategies are needed

  • Translate strategic and operating plans into meaningful direction of projects, goals, priorities and activities

  • Apply High Performance Management practices in leading an engaged workforce in order to effectively leverage the full potential and talent of this function
  • Provides a structural and consistent approach to ensure that individual development plans are in place, performance management is consistent, performance management process is respected and followed, and coaching and feedback are provided on a regular and dynamic basis.
  • Work with your team and help seek out growth opportunities for them; continually challenge team members to maximize their engagement and productivity
  • Help propagate messaging across the organization that fosters a broader knowledge of Brand Communications, promotes collaboration and influences constructive and positive change.
  • Monitor and oversee expenditure control to ensure successful adherence to business plans and budget.
Adhere to and ensure compliance of all business transactions with policy and process of the Bank Secrecy Act. Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, company procedures and policies. Maintain integrity and ethics in all actions and conversations with or regarding credit union members and their accounts; complies with Privacy Act directives.
Qualifications
You'll Be a Great Fit If In Addition To The Completion Of a Bachelor's Degree In Communications, Marketing, Business, Or Related Field, And You Have
  • 10 +years in marketing, internal communications, or a communications role
  • Ability to work with senior executives and navigate complex business issues
  • Strong team leader with experience influencing and managing project teams and vendors
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of digital marketing space
  • Experience with Agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum) a plus
  • Execution and process oriented, forward thinking, diligent and creative
  • Proven track record of solving problems with a team
  • Comfortable communicating with stakeholders at all levels of an organization
  • Experience working in a regulated industry, with compliance teams, preferred
