Job Description

Peterson Cat has a need for a Rental Consultant based at our Redmond, OR location.

SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this position is to increase Peterson Cat's revenue and market share by renting and selling equipment. This is accomplished by making sales calls on the current customer base and prospecting for new customers in their respective sales territory. This position requires the Rental Consultant to be away from the employer's place of business more than 50% of the time interacting with customers at their locations and/or job sites.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign the functions to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. Job functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform to achieve business plan results for the defined territory Including:
    • Achieve Rental Sales Quota.
    • Average a minimum of 10-15 "outbound" sales calls per day including office and jobsite visits
    • Open 3 new accounts per quarter.
    • Develop and follow daily/weekly/monthly call route/strategy for maintaining and prospecting business within your territory.
    • Identify and provide strategy for capturing business with key conquest opportunities within your territory.
  • Harvest and execute on lead information weekly from the following sources: Sales Link, Dodge, CDC and other Rental Sales Managers assigned sources.
  • Fulfill requests from management for information & assistance including collection activities.
  • Insure that the top 150 customers being called on in your territory are assigned in Sales Link (CRM); all daily activities are being recorded on a daily basis no later than 8:00AM the following day.
  • Keep all customer profiles current in Sales Link (CRM); ensure all assigned customers are physically seen no less than one time per month.
  • Follow up on all leads and opportunities in a timely manner.
  • Perform "on call" duties on a rotational basis per posted schedule.
  • Responsible to drive for the purpose of calling on customers, developing territory, and attending events, etc.
  • Work with, assist and promote other Peterson business groups to the betterment of Peterson as a whole.
  • Complete and stay current with any suggested training by the Sales Manager within the time frame scheduled by the Sales Manager.
  • Follow Peterson's Employee Driving Safety and Compliance Policy
  • Maintain a professional appearance, as outlined in the Peterson Employee Handbook and specified by management
  • Travel to branch locations and visit customers as needed; Operate company or personal vehicle as needed

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Participate in PMCO safety training as requested/required.
  • Maintain image and appearance of program vehicle.
  • Check hour meters and service intervals on equipment at job sites/projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associates Degree from a fully accredited college in a related field is preferred; and a minimum of 3 years of sales experience, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
