Job description

At Burwell Material Handling, people come first. Our team, our customers, and the communities we serve are the reason we exist. We're who we are today because of the people behind us. Every team member, every connection, and every customer relationship helped shape this company.

We've built our reputation by delivering smarter, safer material handling across the full lifecycle: equipment sales, rentals, service and parts, fleet telematics, and engineered automation solutions. We do it with the kind of personal attention that comes from being neither too big to care nor too small to keep up. We listen first, we move fast, and we keep our word.

Now we're growing, and we're looking for forward-thinking, motivated teammates who want to help build something meaningful. Here, your contributions count and your voice is heard.

About the Role:

Burwell Material Handling is hiring a Branch Manager ready to take ownership and deliver results. You will run your branch as if it were your own, leading a high-performing team, driving sales, and growing market share in material handling equipment. This role blends strategic planning, sales leadership, and operations management to grow revenue and deliver service excellence in equipment sales, rentals, and service. With top products, strong vendor partnerships, and a reputation that customers trust, you will have the authority and support to lead with confidence. If you are ready to grow a successful branch and be recognized for the results you deliver, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a branch growth strategy that drives sales and service performance in material handling equipment, heavy equipment, and industrial solutions.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a results-driven branch team across all departments, ensuring every role contributes to sales growth, service excellence, and overall branch success.
  • Manage branch operations with full P&L responsibility, optimizing profitability and resource allocation.
  • Lead the sales team to grow accounts in forklifts, lift trucks, warehouse automation, dock and door equipment, overhead cranes, racking systems, and related industrial products.
  • Build strong customer relationships to increase customer retention and market share.
  • Track and analyze performance metrics, ensuring KPIs for revenue growth, territory expansion, and service quality are met.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance within the branch.
  • Represent Burwell Material Handling, LLC in the market through industry networking, vendor partnerships, and community engagement.
  • This position may include additional duties that align with the overall scope of the role and contribute to the continued success of the department. These tasks are designed to support evolving business needs and provide opportunities for skill development and professional growth.

Skills & Experience We’re Looking For:

  • 3–5 years of branch management, sales leadership, or operations management experience in the industrial service or heavy equipment industry, preferably in material handling.
  • Proven success in growing revenue, expanding customer base, and improving operational efficiency.
  • Experience leading and managing branch teams across sales, service, equipment rentals, and all supporting departments.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling.

Benefits:
All offers are contingent on passing a pre-employment drug test and background check. Burwell Material Handling is a drug-free workplace.

  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • Excellent benefits starting day one – Medical, Dental, Vision, Accident, Short-Term Disability, Life Insurance, and 401K with Company Match
  • Progressive Paid Time Off and Holidays – starting with 3 weeks PTO in your first year
  • Paid parental leave for moms and dads
  • Opportunities for growth and internal promotion
  • Annual Community Impact Day – paid volunteer time in the places we work and live

Our goal is to improve the quality of work life by using fair and consistent treatment and providing equal growth opportunities for all team members. We are an equal opportunity employer as defined by federal, state or local laws.

If you're looking to build a meaningful career, we’re excited to support your goals and help you grow with us.
