Job description

Position Summary
The Box Maker is responsible for receiving raw materials and purchased items, constructing shipping boxes to specification, maintaining inventory of supplies, completing required documentation, and ensuring a safe and organized work environment. This position supports the efficient operation of the production department through teamwork and the performance of additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to stand, bend, pull, push, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds safely and repeatedly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate hand and power tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and organize raw materials and purchased items used in company operations.
  • Select and cut lumber and assemble shipping boxes according to customer and shipping specifications.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels of supplies and consumable materials required for box-making and receiving functions.
  • Request or reorder supplies as needed to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Safely operate and maintain proficiency with tools and equipment required for the position.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company safety standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment associated with box-making and receiving activities.
  • Assist with other production and warehouse duties as assigned to support department operations.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing/production environment.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing and warehouse setting.
  • Exposure to lumber, tools, machinery, and typical production-related noise levels.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as appropriate.
